Panther Vy. bocce ball team unites players

Panther Valley’s Unified Sports Bocce Ball home match was held Thursday at the intermediate school.

Panther Valley won both matches over Northern Schuylkill. The first was a score of 6-5 and the second was 8-7.

The first match was won by Panther Valley in overtime. Player Bradley Barlett said, “In the second one, we were down 5-0 to start things off and managed to win in the final frame.”

Special Olympics Unified Sports Bocce Ball brings students with and without disabilities together on the same team to compete, build friendships, and promote inclusion.

Athletes and partners work side by side to develop teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence in a fun, supportive, and competitive environment.

The focus is on belonging, respect, and celebrating every athlete’s strengths while enjoying the game of bocce ball together. This is the second year the district has participated in this program.

Another match is scheduled at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
