Man charged after fight in Tamaqua

A Lansford man was charged by Tamaqua police with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct following a Jan. 25 fight outside a Cedar Street bar.

According to police, Joshua Montalvo, 23, was wanted on a warrant from Scranton.

Police said they were called to a fight on the 200 block of Cedar Street at 12:55 a.m. and spotted Montalvo, who was not wearing a shirt and bleeding from his mouth.

He was placed in handcuffs, and police said he showed signs of intoxication. Police said Montalvo said he didn’t start the fight and would not tell them who else was involved. Patrons at the bar said they did not see anything.

Montalvo was taken into custody and it was learned that the had a warrant. He was cited and turned over to the custody of Scranton police.
