Carbon man arrested in Columbia County

An Ashland man wanted in Carbon County on a “bad checks” charge was arrested in Columbia County on Jan. 17 after police tracked his footprints in the snow from a domestic incident.

Joshua Daum, 37, was wanted by the Carbon sheriff’s department as well as authorities in Columbia County on charges of failure to make required disposition of funds.

State police at the Bloomsburg barracks said they were called to a domestic incident on the above date and learned Daum had fled the scene prior to their arrival. They said he was found about a mile from the scene after police followed fresh footprints in the snow.

After taking him into custody police said he was found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Police charged Daum with flight to avoid apprehension, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a small amount of marijuana.

State police were assisted by police from Locust Township and handed Daum over to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. He was taken to the Columbia County Correctional Facility.
