Slatington getting new website, hears resident input
Slatington Borough will have a new website for residents to stay informed.
“The borough’s new website will be up and running later this month. It will be a lot more user friendly. I urge all residents to sign up for our notification system on the website,” Manager Roy Hambrecht said at the meeting last week. “The notification can be given for any type of information.”
“I will have my report ready at the next meeting for what we spent for 2025,” he said.
Hambrecht welcomed new council members Andy Hassold and Robert Krebs. “I look forward to working with you for years to come,” he said.
Resident input
Giovanni Romero, owner of Venue22, 661 Main St., Slatington came to the council meeting to propose a partnership with the borough to bring federal funding and community programs to Slatington.
Councilman David Schnaars said, “We will discuss it at a committee meeting next week.”
Resident Kris Burek told council, “The 1200 block of Fourth street needs streetlights. There is only one that has a very faint light bulb. It is so dark. Also, there are no street signs.”
She added, “my address does not exist to delivery drivers, which is why they cannot find my home when put into their GPS, and for two years we have not had leaf collection.”
Hambrecht said he would look into it.
