Senior Center

The Panther Valley Senior Center announced the menu from Jan. 26-30.

Monday: Turkey Kielbasa, Red Potatoes, Baked Beans, Applesauce or Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Tuesday: Spaghetti and Meatballs, Green Beans, Salad, Cookie, Orange or Chicken Caesar salad

Wednesday: Smothered Pork, Pierogies, Peas and Carrots, Mixed Fruit or Beef and Cheese Sandwich

Thursday: Haddock Filet, Scalloped Potatoes, Zucchini, Cantaloupe or Chicken Ranch Salad

Friday: Halupki, Mashed Potatoes, Carrots, Yogurt or Tuna Sandwich

The center has also announced the following upcoming events:

Movie and Popcorn on Jan. 23 at 10 a.m.

Scattergories on Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. with Waffles and Ice Cream Sundaes after Lunch; Bingo on Jan. 27 at 10:45; Chair Exercise on Jan. 28 at 11 a.m.; Po-Keeno on Jan. 29 at 11 a.m.; Skeeball on Jan. 30 at 11 a.m.

Speaker with St Luke’s Physical Therapy on Feb. 2 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on Feb. 3 at 10:45; Po-Keeno on Feb. 4 at 11 a.m.; Medicare Seminar with Refreshments on Feb. 5 at 11 a.m., preregistration is required; Valentine Craft on Feb. 6 at 10 a.m.

Cards, Pool, Games, available daily from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. New members are welcome.

Nesquehoning

Hometown Hero banners

Applications for the 2026 Nesquehoning Veterans Banner program are still open.

If you would like to purchase a new banner, applications are available by calling one of the contacts below. Deadline to purchase a new banner is Feb. 5.

If you purchased a banner to be displayed in 2023, 2024, and 2025, deadline for renewals is Jan. 30.

PV Library

The new hours at Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, are now in effect.

The evening hours are now 5-7 p.m. Tuesday. Other hours of operation remain the same.

Maple Shade Meadows

Maple Shade Meadows Assisted Living in Nesquehoning will be hosting its annual Valentine’s Day Dance for the residents.

The organization is seeking donations for women’s dresses and men’s dress attire. Deadline for donations is Feb. 1.
