Representatives of the Alec Campbell Mauch Chunk Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Molly Maguire Division of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians announced Mrs. Agnes McCartney, longtime promoter of tourism in the county, will serve as grand marshal of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Mrs. McCartney is the retired director of the Carbon County Planning Commission who directed the Carbon County Tourist Promotion Agency for many years.

Aides to the grand marshal were also announced by the two organizations that sponsor the annual parade in downtown Jim Thorpe. They will be Francis C. O’Donnell, Peggy McClafferty and Dolores Gillespie, all of Jim Thorpe, and Francis T. O’Donnell of Florida, formerly of Jim Thorpe.
