Family Promise seeks donations

A homeless shelter in Nesquehoning that recently added a cold weather shelter is requesting donations of food and grocery store gift cards.

According to Family Promise of Carbon County, the family shelter is in need of shelf-stable food items such as macaroni and cheese, pasta sauce, pasta, canned soups, jelly, peanut butter, canned tuna and chicken, and rice.

The 140 W. Mill St. shelter is also asking for grocery store gift cards or cash donations.

The help, it noted, will “empower us to continue making a difference.”

Family Promise currently houses 41 people, 19 of whom are children.
