Northern Lehigh and Panther Valley picked up wins in boys basketball on Friday.
The Bulldogs edged Saucon Valley, while the Panthers downed Mahanoy Area.
In wrestling action, Lehighton defeated Palmerton. The Indians’ Evan Wentz earned his 100th career win in the victory.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Saucon Vy.-Northern Lehigh
Northern Lehigh trailed at halftime but rallied in the second half to earn a 45-40 Colonial League victory over visiting Saucon Valley.
Kellen Bauer scored 11 of his game-high 16 points over the last two quarters to help the Bulldogs erase a three-point deficit at the break.
Michael Bauer added 13 points to the winning cause, while the Panthers received a team-high 14 points from Thomas Cahill.

Danny Wehr scored a game-high 19 points to power Panther Valley to a 65-51 Schuylkill League victory over host Mahanoy Area.
Wehr hit for 13 of his points in the opening half as the Panthers were up by 10 at the intermission.
PV also received 14 points from Brody Breiner, while Chase McArdle finished with 10.
The Bears were led by Nico Dicasimirro’s 15 points.

Keating, who hit for of those treys, had 18 points in the opening two quarters as the Hilltoppers took an eight-point halftime lead.
Nick Clarke scored all eight of his points in the second half as the winners pulled away for the win.
The Colts were paced by Jacob De La Cruz’s 13 points while Greg Tirpak added 10.

Christian Alvarez and David Kunstek both had 15 points for the Tide, which pulled away by scoring 43 second-half points.
The Blue Raiders received a game-high 16 points from Jakin Tamagini, while Terrence McDowell added nine.

Saucon Valley made 11 of 12 free throw attempts in overtime to outlast Northern Lehigh, 52-44.
Sierra Skoda went 9-10 at the foul line in the extra stanza while scoring a team-high 25 points in the win. Brooke Davis added 12 points for the Panthers.
Northern Lehigh’s Tegan Simms poured in a game-high 27 points, including seven three-pointers. Her four fourth-quarter treys helped the Bulldogs send the game to overtime.

Lehighton-Palmerton
Lehighton’s Evan Wentz picked up his 100th career victory during the Indians’ 48-13 Colonial League win over host Palmerton.
Wentz posted a technical fall in just 1:15 at 152 pounds to hit the milestone.
The Tribe recorded four consecutive pins from 172-285 to take a commanding lead. Gaining the falls were Carter Hontz (172), Preston DiGrazia (189), Asher Traylor (215) and Marc Macias (285). Lehighton also received a pin from Danny Edgar at 133.

GIRLS WRESTLING
Coal Cracker Tournament
Five area wrestlers went unbeaten Friday and will head into Saturday in contention to win a Coal Cracker Invitational title.
Panther Valley’s Brenda Banks (237) pinned her first two opponents in a total of 32 seconds to reach the semifinal round. Panther teammate Alisa Williams (172) also won a pair of bouts to reach semifinals, which will be wrestled on Saturday.
Lehighton’s Mia Guy (120) was seeded 26th in the event. She beat seventh-seeded Ariana Stallworth (Catasauqua) 3-2 in her first bout then pinned her next opponent to earn a place in Saturday’s semifinal. Lehighton’s Kennedy Quinn (138) pinned three straight opponents Friday to reach the semifinals. Pleasant Valley’s Halley Marsh (192) also wrestled her way into the semifinal round.
A number of other area wrestlers are still alive in the tournament.
Palmerton’s Paige Kibler (114) and Nickayla Tomsic (144); Tamaqua’s Kiely Kunkel (114) and Jalissa Correa (126); Lehighton’s Zoey Deidel (114), Blayr Strawser (132), Lillian Klotz (144) and Alivia Reed (172); and Pleasant Valley’s Josie Fetterman (150) reached the quarterfinal round before losing and will compete in the consolation bracket tomorrow.
