Carrie Alexis Whitman of Swoyersville, a Luzerne County Community College student, was named 1994 Miss Carbon County yesterday.

The 20-year-old winner, who has been entering competitions since she was 8, will compete for the Miss Pennsylvania crown in May in Easton.

The first runner-up was Laura Musto of Pittston; second runner-up, Barbara Zaun of Bethlehem; and third place finisher, Dianne Vogrins of Bethlehem.

The competition was held in the Lehighton Area Middle School and was emceed by Darryl Seiwell, elementary music teacher and senior high and chorus director in the Jim Thorpe Area School District.
