Lehighton has 3 full-time police officer openings
Lehighton is accepting applications for full-time police officers.
The department currently consists of 10 full-time officers, including the chief of police, a detective and a corporal.
There are currently three full-time positions available.
The borough is accepting applications for the positions at Lehighton Borough Hall, borough secretary office, Lehighton Police Station, or at www.lehightonborough.com/employment.
Completed applications must be returned to the borough secretary office no later than 4 p.m. Feb. 28. Applicants must be 21 years of age at time of employment, a high school graduate or possess a GED, a U.S. citizen, have a valid driver’s license and must have proof of completion of ACT 120 Municipal Police Officer Training Act upon appointment.
Applicants currently attending an accredited Police Academy are encouraged to apply. Veteran’s Points applied with submission of DD-214.
The contractual salary for 2026 is $86,795 (based upon prior experience). There is also a competitive benefit package, as the department is in a contract year and looking to remain highly competitive with surrounding agencies.
The department’s Civil Service Commission testing will establish an eligibility list that the department may select from. Testing to consist of physical agility, written exam, oral interview, criminal background check and medical (drug test)/phycological exams.

Examination testing will be conducted on Feb. 8.
