State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police were called to a Dog Law violation at 3:46 p.m. Dec. 29.
The incident occurred on Laurel Road, Mahoning Township. They did not provide the details.
• Police are investigating a “theft-bad checks” case they were called to at Lake View Drive and Blue Mountain Circle, Ross Township.
They said a 70-year-old woman from Saylorsburg reported she attempted to cash a check from a prospective employer in the amount of $3,250, and the check was determined to be insufficient. She told police her bank account was debited in that amount between Jan. 6-8.
• A 53-year-old woman from Sam Brooke Circle, East Penn Township, is the victim is a theft by deception (credit card/ATM) incident police were called to at 12:18 p.m. Nov. 29.
She told police that $225.15 was stolen from her in credit card purchases.
