State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:

• Rufine A. Mensah Kodjovi, 59, of Effort, was uninjured after a one-vehicle crash at 8:14 a.m. Dec. 14 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was driving a 2019 Jeep Cherokee southbound when she failed to negotiate a left curve on the snow-covered road. The Jeep traveled off the road and struck a utility pole. It was towed from the scene.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:01 p.m. Nov. 19 on Sugar Hollow Road, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Garrett J. Hirschmugl, 75, of Effort, was driving a 2014 Dodge Avenger on Hawk Terrace Road when he pulled into the path of a 1995 Jeep Wrangler operated by Christopher P. Geiser, 52, of Albrightsville, causing the collision.

Police said both vehicle had disabling damage and were towed from the scene.

• Injuries were averted in a two-vehicle crash at 8:11 a.m. Jan. 1 on Sherwood Forest Road, Jackson Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Kevin J. Boyne, 23, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2019 Honda eastbound when he lost control of it due to inclement weather conditions. The vehicle traveled into the westbound land and struck a 2024 Mack Truck driven by Chad S. Everett, 57, of Stroudsburg, then spun around, traveled off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

The Honda had disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene, while the Mack had minor damage.

• Dylan J. White, 29, of Albrightsville, had suspected minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 11:53 p.m. Jan. 3 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the West End Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.

Police said he was driving a 2022 Ford Explorer eastbound when it drifted into the oncoming lane and struck a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban driven by Liam J. Tarvers, 24, of Kunkletown. Both vehicles had disabling damage.

• No one was hurt in a three-vehicle crash at 11 a.m. Dec. 18 on the Wilkes-Barre Turnpike in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Kevin Kimmins, 69, of East Stroudsburg, was driving a 1997 Jeep Wrangler southbound when it struck the trailer of a 2024 International operated by Andrew Vollaro Onyeche, 28, of Hanover Township, before veering to the right and then striking a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Milton Colon, 70, of Effort.

The Wrangler was towed from the scene, while the International and Santa Fe had minor damage.

• Nicolette R. Parasconda, 24, of East Stroudsburg, was injured after a two-vehicle crash at 10:12 a.m. Jan. 2 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the West End Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.

They said the crash occurred as a 16-year-old boy from Saylorsburg was driving a 2022 Ford Edge eastbound when it turned left onto Route 715 and struck a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic operated westbound by Parasconda. Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The teen was cited after the crash.

• Ruslan P. Kolyuzko, 40, of Staten Island, New York, was uninjured after a one-vehicle crash at 1:02 a.m. Nov. 12 on Rising Hill Drive, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2025 Mercedes-Benz northbound when it veered off the right side of the road and struck a tree. It had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

• David G. Nickels, 79, of Albrightsville, was injured after a one-vehicle crash at 10:57 a.m. Dec. 13 on Jonas Road, Chestnuthill Township.

He was transported by the West End Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus. They said he was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was descending a steep hill that curved to the right when it exited the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Abigail R. Dowling, 22, of Effort, was cited for following too closely after a two-vehicle crash at 9:44 a.m. Jan. 1 on Jonas Road, Chestnuthill Township. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2011 Nissan Altima westbound and was unable to stop due to inclement weather. The car struck a 2017 Hino Conventional driven by Rocky D. Bonnetperez, 39, of Newark, New Jersey.

Police said the Altima had disabling damage and was towed from the scene, while the Hino had minor damage.
