A Palmerton woman has been charged after police say she altered a lease agreement to live in a home where she was not allowed to stay.
Palmerton police said they received a complaint on Nov. 10, 2025, from the owner of GAK Management LLC, who reported that Krystal Fitzgerald, 41, was living in a unit in the 400 block of Lehigh Avenue despite being barred from the property.
The owner said he contacted Pennsylvania State Parole after learning Fitzgerald was on parole.
Police later learned that Fitzgerald had given parole officials a copy of a lease listing her as a tenant at the address. Investigators obtained records from state parole, including the lease and parole documents tied to Fitzgerald.
According to police, the lease had been altered after the landlord signed it for a single tenant. Fitzgerald is accused of adding her name next to the actual tenant, removing her name from a section showing she was prohibited from living there, changing initials and forging the landlord’s signature.
Police said Fitzgerald provided the altered lease to her parole agent to show she had approved housing, which is required under her parole conditions.
Fitzgerald is charged with three counts of forgery and one count each of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. She is free on $7,500 unsecured bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 21 before District Judge William J. Kissner.
