Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Gregorio Pagliante Jr., 31, of Pittston, was injured after a one-vehicle crash at 5:40 a.m. Jan. 1 at mile marker 67 in Washington Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley ambulance to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

They said he was driving a 2007 Honda Accord northbound when he lost control of it on the snow-covered roadway. The car exited its lane of travel and hit an embankment. The vehicle had disabling damage.

• Darryl L. Jenkins, 61, of Bensalem, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 10:23 a.m. Dec. 23 at mile marker 97.1 in Kidder Township. He was uninjured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2016 Acura northbound when he lost control of it and it struck a guide rail on the left side of the road and then a concrete barrier on the right side of the road.

• Tavia K. Suarez, 42, of New Hope, had possible injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 6 p.m. Dec. 30 on the northbound ramp of the Pocono Interchange in Kidder Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lake Harmony Rescue Squad Ambulance Corporation to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Ryan M. Petrosky, 22, of Mountain Top, was driving a 2009 Lexus that struck the back of a 2021 Honda Insight driven by Suarez.

Police said the Lexus was heavily damaged and towed from the scene, while the Honda had rear bumper damage but was operable.

Suarez was cited for following too closely, according to police.

• Travis C. Benson, 22, of Albrightsville, was injured in a collision at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at mile marker 71.4 inside the Lehigh Tunnel in East Penn Township.

Police said the severity of his injuries is unknown. He was transported by personnel from the Northern Valley Ambulance to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Benson was driving a 2016 Ford F-150 northbound when it struck the back of a 2022 Freightliner driven by Orzumurod Ergashev, 35, of North Wales. He was uninjured in the incident.
