State police at Fern Ridge - crashes
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:
• Saboor A. Kabiri, 38, of Easton, was uninjured after a one-vehicle crash at 8:09 p.m. Jan. 5 on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said he was driving a 2025 Honda Prologue that left the right side of the roadway, struck a large tree and became disabled. It was towed from the scene.
• Odell Sanchez, 18, of Easton, was uninjured after a one-vehicle crash at 8:19 p.m. Jan. 2 on Ginsburg Circle, Penn Forest Township.
Police said he was driving a 2017 Ford Fiesta northbound when he lost control of it due to slippery road conditions. The car traveled into a ditch adjacent to the right shoulder of the road and overturned. It was towed from the scene.
• Nicholas G. Kaufmann, 20, of Kunkletown, and Gina M. Voorhis, 66, of Stroudsburg, had suspected minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 2:06 p.m. Dec. 24 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said they did not require medical services transports from the scene.
The crash occurred, police said, when Letisia M. Landis, 20, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, with Kaufmann as a passenger.
The vehicle was eastbound when Landis failed to yield the right of way and attempted to make a left turn onto Route 715, crossing into the lane of travel of a 2009 Dodge Caravan driven by Voorhis and causing the collision, police said.
The Equinox had disabling damage and was towed from the scene, while the Caravan had minor damage.
Landis was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Eve M. Yarmosh, 63, of Effort, had sustained suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 10:58 a.m. Jan. 1 on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.
They said she was driving a 2002 Acura southbound when it left the roadway and struck a sign and guide rail. It continued down a small embankment and then hit a tree, police said.
The vehicle had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
• Xihunelt Grandados Lugo, 29, of Stroudsburg, had sustained suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 2:06 p.m. Dec. 31 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township. A 2-year-old girl in the vehicle was uninjured.
Police said Lugo, who did not require an emergency medical services transport from the scene, was driving a 2010 Honda Pilot northbound when she lost control of it and the vehicle struck an embankment on the left shoulder of the road and rolled over.
The vehicle was heavily damaged and towed from the scene.
Police said Lugo was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 8:06 a.m. Dec. 15 at the intersection of Poplar Crossing Road and Shane Drive in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said the crash occurred when Erik Ramos, 45, of Effort, was driving a 2013 Dodge Journey west on Poplar Crossing Road and attempted to make a right turn onto Shane Drive, while Nathalie Cruz, 23, also of Effort, was southbound in a 2025 Nissan Pathfinder on Shane Drive and attempting to turn left on Poplar Crossing Road.
Police said the Journey struck the Pathfinder.
The Journey had disabling damages and was towed from the scene, while the Pathfinder had minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
In addition to the drivers, a passenger in each vehicle was also not hurt.
