January 9, 1962 — A big fourth-quarter rally allows Lehighton to gain a 56-50 Lehigh Valley League comeback victory over Slatington. Trailing by six points entering the final frame, the Indians use a 10-3 start to the period with Larry Stout’s field goal putting his team ahead. The winners, coached by Bob Arner, end up outscoring the visitors by a 21-9 margin. Russ Miller paces Lehighton with a team-high 18 points, while Dave Werner contributes 15. Walt Fisher chips in with nine and Stout adds eight. For the Slaters, Dennis Lazorchek finishes with a game-high 19 points.
