Join the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society for its 12th annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids (CBC4Kids), a fun introduction to birding that teaches kids how to use binoculars, identify common birds and collect scientific data.
The 2026 count will take place at Muhlenberg College in Allentown the morning of Saturday.
The CBC4Kids is based on the National Audubon Society’s Christmas Bird Count, a 126-year-old community science event that has become a cherished holiday tradition for birders nationwide.
Following an interactive session about birds, community science and how to use binoculars, CBC4Kids participants will form teams and conduct a bird count in a nearby park.
After an hour of birding, everyone will reconvene to tally up the data and share their discoveries.
Participants are encouraged to then stick around for a tour of the Muhlenberg College bird museum.
The event is open to kids ages 6-12 and their families. To register, go to https://bit.ly/CBC4Kids.
