State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 16-year-old boy from Tamaqua and a 16-year-old boy from Palmerton were cited for criminal mischief after police were called to Red Hill Drive, Palmerton, at 7:54 p.m. Jan. 2.
Police said a Palmerton resident reported the boys broke windows on a 2003 Chevrolet and a 1997 Chevrolet Express van to steal items from inside them.
• A 41-year-old Jim Thorpe man is the victim of a theft from a motor vehicle incident police were called to at 9:55 a.m. Jan. 2 on Church Road, Penn Forest Township.
He told police juvenile suspects took belongings from his unlocked 2020 Nissan Rogue.
The belongings included Disney golf balls valued at $10; a $200 Olive Garden gift card; a player card from the Mount Airy Casino; a Palmerton Area School District card valued at $10; and an EpiPen valued at $300.
• A 20-year-old man from Andreas is the victim of a theft incident police were called to at 2:50 p.m. Jan. 4 at the Blue Mountain Resort, Blue Mountain Drive, Lower Towamensing Township.
Police said he reported someone stole his Capital snowboard valued at $750.
• A second snowboard theft was reported to police at 7:50 p.m. Jan. 4 at the resort.
The victim is a 16-year-old boy from Albrightsville.
Police did not provide any other information about the thefts.
• Police were called to a lost property report involving a weapon at 8 a.m. Nov. 26 on Maple Terrace, Ross Township.
They said a 73-year-old man from Saylorsburg reported he returned from his vacation and discovered the weapon was missing from his safe.
The weapon is a D Max/Springfield 9 mm pistol that is valued at $450.
• Police responded to a report of a Protection From Abuse court order violation but said the district attorney’s office declined prosecution because the suspect had not been served the court order.
It occurred at 8:14 a.m. Dec. 30 on Porter Drive, Penn Forest Township.
Police said the victim is an 81-year-old man from Jim Thorpe and the other involved party is a 47-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe.
