State police at Fogelsville - crashes

State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported the following crashes:

• Ryan M. Iliff, 25, of Walnutport, was cited after a three-vehicle crash at 5:19 a.m. Dec. 18 on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2022 Volkswagen Jetta that entered the interstate from Route 100 and struck a 2024 Kenworth operated by Hipolito Rodriguez, 58, of Allentown.

The Jetta then spun out of control and was struck by a 2023 Freightliner driven by Yeury S. Colon Lugo, 32, of Hazleton.

Police said the Jetta was towed from the scene.

• No one was hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 3:01 p.m. Dec. 10 on Lyon Valley Road, Weisenberg Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Josh W. Cesare, 46, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2025 Honda CRV, and Rachael L. Bauer, 36, of Schnecksville, was operating a 2016 Toyota Sienna. They said the Sienna began to slide on the untreated roadway and came to a temporary stop, at which time it was hit by the Honda, which also slid on the road.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.

• Rebecca K. Smith, 42, of New Holland, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 5:53 p.m. Dec. 10 on Werley’s Corner Road, Lowhill Township.

Police said she refused a medical services transport from the scene.

They said she was driving a 2003 Volkswagen south when it slid on slippery/winter road conditions. They said she attempted to correct the vehicle’s movement but was unsuccessful and the left the road and hit a tree.

It sustained disabling damage, police said.

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:45 p.m. Nov. 30 on Route 222 in Lower Macungie Township.

Police said the crash occurred when Rileigh J. Seaman, 18, of Slatington, was driving a 2011 Nissan Versa that struck the back of a 2011 Honda Accord operated by a 17-year-old girl from Slatington.

Police said the Versa was towed from the scene, while the Honda had functional damages.

• Alexander L. Costa, 75, of Kunkletown, was cited after a three-vehicle crash at 7:17 p.m. Nov. 28 at the intersection of Route 309 and Mountain Road in Lynn Township.

Police said he was driving a 2026 Chevrolet Equinox that pulled out in front of a 2014 Honda CRV driven northbound on Route 309 by Johan V. Garcia, 25, of Hazleton, causing the collision.

Police said the Equinox rolled and came to rest in the middle of the intersection, while the Honda struck a 2024 Toyota Prius driven by Brian C. Gulick, 68, of New Tripoli.

Police said none of the drivers was injured, but Me Alcatrara De La Cruz, 25, of Hazleton, a passenger with Garcia, had suspected minor injuries and was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to an area hospital.

They said a passenger in the Equinox, another passenger in the Honda and three passengers in the Prius were also not hurt.

• Susan A. Shiner, 63, of New Tripoli, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 4:27 p.m. Dec. 15 on Claussville Road, Weisenberg Township.

Police said she was driving a 2015 Ford Mustang eastbound when it left the road and struck a tree.

Police said she was uninjured but requested to be evaluated by emergency medical services personnel.

The Mustang was towed from the scene, police said.
