Senior Center

The Panther Valley Senior Center announced the menu from Jan. 12-16.

Monday: Teriyaki Chicken, Fried Rice, Stir Fry Vegetables, Orange or Turkey and Cheese Sandwich.

Tuesday: Beef Sloppy Joe, Sweet Potatoes, Beets, Pineapple or Bologna and Cheese Sandwich.

Wednesday: Chicken Alfredo, Pasta, Vegetable Blend, Salad, Applesauce or Harvest Salad.

Thursday: Salisbury Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Mixed Vegetables, Pudding or Ham and Cheese Sandwich.

Friday: French Onion Soup, Pilled Pork Sandwich, Cole Slaw, Apple Slices or Salad with Tuna.

Hometown Hero banners

The Nesquehoning Veterans Banner program is open for 2026.

If you would like to purchase a new banner, applications are available by calling one of the contacts below. Deadline to purchase a new banner is Feb. 5.

Also if you purchased a banner to be displayed in 2023, 2024 and 2025, you have already been contacted and provided with the renewal information. Deadline for renewals is Jan. 30.

PV Library

The new hours at Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, are now in effect.

The evening hours are now 5-7 p.m. Tuesday. Other hours of operation remain the same.

MapleShade Meadows

MapleShade Meadows Assisted Living in Nesquehoning will be hosting its annual Valentine’s Day Dance for the residents.

The organization is seeking donations for women’s dresses and men’s dress attire.
