Penn Forest TOWNSHIP

Penn Forest Township reorganized Monday night.

Roger Meckes will retain the chairman seat, with Christian Bartulovich as vice chairman.

Dana Vitale will serve as Secretary/Assistant Treasurer and Holly Rivera as township treasurer.

The following positions were set:

• Roadmaster: Patrick Holland, salary of $8,499.96 annually and $25 for each driveway permit issued.

• Assistant Roadmaster: Jim Denier, salary set at $25 per hour

• Representative and Alternate for Carbon County Tax Collector: Brandon Bell

• Solicitor: Tom Nanovic

• Planning Commission Secretary: Aimee Paparozzi

• Building Code Official and Township Engineer: Barry Isett Associates

• Sewage Enforcement Officer: Hanover Engineering Associates

• Emergency Management Coordinator: Jesse Brennan

• Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator: Mike Bourke

• Compensation for Planning Committee: $10 per meeting

• Compensation for the Planning Commission will consist of Henry Doll and Jessica Seersma be compensated $10 per meeting.•

The Zoning Hearing Board will consist of Audrey Wargo (1/1/27), Patrick Walsh (1/1/28) and Paul Fogal (1/1/27), alternate Shawn Kresge with compensation of $10 per hearing.

Elected auditors are James Walck (2032), Christine Fazio (2030) and 2-year term until 2028 for elected Rebecca Hassenbein.

The board of supervisors annual salary was set at $2,500 annually.

Mileage for all positions will be the federal rate of 72.5 cents per mile.

The tax rates were approved at:

• No real estate tax

• Transfer Tax and Earned Income Tax, half of 1% split with Jim Thorpe Area School District.

• Amusement tax, 2 ½%

• The park and recreation board will consist of Tammy Meckes (2028), Joanne Rice (2027), Kate Edmonds (2031) and Holly Rivera (2030).

• BOS meetings will be held the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m.
