Eldred Township supervisors reorganize
The Eldred Township supervisors held their reorganization meeting on Monday night. The following positions were approved:
• Chairman — Scott Clark.
• Vice chairman — Susan McGinty.
• Secretary/administrative assistant — E. Ann Velopolcek.
• Right-to-Know officer — E. Ann Velopolcek.
• Treasurer — David Anderson.
• Public Works supervisor — Jonathan Gula.
• Township solicitor — Michael Gaul, King, Spry, Herman, Freund & Faul LLC, $190 per hour, which is a $5 per hour increase.
• Planning Commission solicitor — Michael Gaul, King, Spry, Herman, Freund & Faul, $160 per hour, a $5 increase.
• Planning Commission — Reappoint Robert Boileau and James Leiding.
• Zoning Hearing Board solicitor — Chad Martinez, $175 per hour (no increase).
• Zoning Hearing Board: Reappoint Charles Ogle, three-year term.
• Zoning and Codes officer — Appoint SFM Consulting, Shawn McGlynn.
• Building Code official — SFM Consulting, Shawn McGlynn.
• UCC inspector — SFM Consulting, Shawn McGlynn.
• Labor matters solicitor — David Stekel, Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba PC, $260 per hour, a $10 increase.
• Engineer — Brien Kocher, PE, senior engineer, Hanover Engineering Associates Inc., $148 per hour.
• Sewage enforcement officer — Hanover Engineering Associates Inc., Jacob Schray, Scott Brown, Luke Eggert, Christopher A. Taylor, Nadia Einfalt, Paul Saba, $102.50 per hour.
• Accountant to audit township accounts for 2025 — Kirk Summa & Co. LLP, cost not to exceed $6,500.
• Flood Plain manager — Appoint SFM Consulting, Shawn McGlynn.
• Vacancy Board chairman — James Leiding.
• Pocono Mountains Council of Governments representative — Susan McGinty; alternate, Jonathan Gula.
• Voting delegate to the state convention — Scott Clark.
• Delegate to the Monroe County Tax Committee — Susan McGinty.
• Security officer: Pennsylvania State Police.
• CJERP (Chestnuthill, Jackson, Eldred, Ross and Polk townships) Regional Planning Committee voting member — Robert Boileau; alternate, Susan McGinty.
• Earned Income Tax liaison — David Anderson.
• Earned Income Tax Appeals officer — Monroe County Earned Income Tax Collection.
• Auditor — Karena Thek.
• Emergency Management coordinator — Gary Hoffman.
• Deputy Emergency Management coordinator — Jonathan Gula and Brian Stankovich.
• Primary fire protection for Eldred Township — Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company.
• Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company fire chief — Brian Stankovich.
• Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company president of the board of directors — Ray Miller.
• Primary advanced life support and basic life support emergency medical service provider for Eldred Township — Lehigh Valley Emergency Medical Services.
• Community Center supervisor liaison and alternate — Susan McGinty and Scott Clark.
• Township administration and volunteer coordinator to the Eldred Township Community Center Board — E. Ann Velopolcek.
• Plant, ground and maintenance emergency response — Jonathan Gula.
• Volunteer thrift store management: Donna Deihl, manager; Peri Marando, assistant manager; Lori Jacobs, administrative assistant.
• Township employees cost of living increases for 2026 — 3%.
• Mileage — Mileage reimbursement at the IRS federally allowed rate 0.725 per mile.
• Legal advertisements — Times News of Lehighton.
• Depositories for township funds — Pennsylvania Local Government Investment Trust and First Northern Bank and Trust.
• Bonds — David Anderson, treasurer, cost $1,740 for a $1,300,000 coverage; Ann Velopolcek, assistant treasurer, $405 for a $200,000 coverage.
• Monthly meeting times and dates — board of supervisors: 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month, except January; Planning Commission: 7 p.m. on second Wednesday; Eldred Township Community Center: 3 p.m. on March 5 and Oct. 1; Parks and Recreation Committee: 7 p.m. last Tuesday beginning on March 31.
Supervisor Chairman Scott Clark said there are a couple of vacancies: UCC Joint Board of Appeals member — needs one person; and Planning Commission — one vacancy, four-year term.
