State police at Fern Ridge - crashes
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:
• Sean P. Farley, 41, of Albrightsville, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 6:29 p.m. Dec. 15 on Jonas Road, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said he was driving a 2015 Subaru Forester eastbound and was traveling too fast for conditions when on a left curve the vehicle traveled onto the east shoulder and hit a utility pole, shearing it in half. Police said the vehicle continued, striking a tree. It was towed from the scene.
• Three people had suspected minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 7:21 a.m. Dec. 3 at the intersection of Route 903 and Towamensing Trail in Penn Forest Township.
Police said Cynthia R. Greenberg, 64, of Merrick, New York, and William E. Lewis, 42, of Lehighton, the drivers of the vehicles, and Ralph D. Greenberg, 74, also of Merrick, were transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.
Police said the crash occurred as Cynthia Greenberg was driving a 2024 Hyundai Tucson north on Route. 903 when it entered the lane of travel of a 2019 GMC Acadia Driven by Lewis. They said the Acadia struck the Tucson, left the road and hit a tree.
Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
• Erica L. Chomos, 44, of Summit Hill, was cited for driving after a two-vehicle crash at 2:23 p.m. Dec. 12 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township. No one was injured in the incident.
Police said she was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse southbound when she turned into the turning lane in front of a 2024 Cadillac Escalade driven by Brandon B. Buchman, 33, of Blakeslee, and the collision occurred.
Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
• Police investigated a three-vehicle crash at 5:01 p.m. Dec. 10 on Route 715 in Jackson Township.
They said an unknown vehicle, believed to be a Volkswagen sedan, hit the back of a 2022 Honda CRV driven by Andrew J. Wawrzyniak, 48, of Albrightsville, pushing it forward into a 2017 BMW operated by Lena Lin, 27, of Stroudsburg, after which the striking vehicle, traveling south on Route 715.
• Ian G. Arnold, 19, of Blakeslee, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 9:24 a.m. Dec. 13 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg.
They said he was driving a 2015 Buick Encore too fast for conditions when it failed to negotiate a right curve in the road and struck an embankment. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle traveled across three lanes and hit a guide rail before overturning, police said. It slid on its roof for about 100 feet before coming to rest.
• Michael S. Leone Jr., 25, of Effort, had suspected minor injuries after a three-vehicle crash at 2:21 p.m. Dec. 11 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus, Stroudsburg.
They said the crash occurred when Frank M. Spell, 72, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2010 Subaru Forester that struck the 2006 Volkswagen driven by Leone, forcing the VW to hit a 2022 Subaru Ascent operated by Isabel M. Prashad, 18, of Blakeslee.
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 4:41 p.m. Dec. 10 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.
Police said the crash occurred as Gurpreet Singh, 31, of Jamaica, New York, was driving a 2016 Toyota Camry eastbound when it lost traction due to snow on the road. It traveled off the right side of the road and hit a snowbank.
Police said the car was pulled from the snowbank and towed from the scene.
• The driver of a 2025 Subaru WRX that struck a deer on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township north of Gould Road was uninjured.
The crash occurred at 3:36 a.m. Dec. 18. Police said the car was drivable after the deer was struck and killed.
• Rebecca S. Benson, 41, of Albrightsville, had suspected minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 6:43 p.m. Dec. 17 at the intersection of Merwinsburg and Burger Hollow roads in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said she refused a medical services transport from the scene.
They said the crash occurred as Rosario Messina III, 44, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2011 GMC Sierra northbound on Burger Hollow Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and traveled into the intersection, where the vehicle struck a 2011 Audi driven by Benson.
• Marguerite M. Ferguson, 74, of Palmerton, and Roseann Ombati, 50, of Kunkletown, were injured in a three-vehicle crash at 4:39 p.m. Dec. 16 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said they were transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg. They said the severity of their injuries are unknown.
Police said the crash occurred when Yvonne M. Thomas, 51, of Palmerton, was driving a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander that struck the rear of a 2011 Toyota RAV4 driven by Ferguson. They said the RAV spun and struck a 2020 Lexus operated by Sebastian B. Ombati, 20, of Kunkletown, in which Roseann Ombati was a passenger.
Police said all three vehicles were towed from the scene.,
Thomas was cited for following too closely, according to police.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:03 a.m. Dec. 24 at the intersection of Weir Lake Road and Veronica Lane, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said the crash occurred as Charles E. Nattress III, 70, of Saylorsburg, was driving a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek that entered the roadway, failing to yield to traffic. The vehicle was then struck by a 2022 Ford Edge operated by Christopher S. Pavlou, 55, of Saylorsburg, police said.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.
• Police responded to a hit-and-run incident at 9:05 a.m. Dec. 13 on Interstate 80 in Kidder Township.
They said a vehicle traveling east sideswiped a 2026 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Ahms Chowshury, 39, of Warren, Michigan, and left the scene.
Police said the Pacifica was towed from the scene.
