McClure awards $400K in grants

Before his term ended Jan. 5, County Executive Lamont G. McClure announced the recipients of the 2025 Northampton County Affordable Housing Program Grant Awards, totaling $400,000. These grants will support local organizations providing transitional, affordable, and emergency housing services to residents across the county.

The Affordable Housing Program provides funding for initiatives that expand access to safe, affordable housing, support emergency shelter operations, and assist with rent, utility and case management services for residents in need. Eligible organizations apply for projects that address housing stability, homelessness prevention and supportive housing services.

“These grants are a critical investment in our residents who are most in need of safe, stable, and affordable housing,” said McClure.

“By supporting these organizations, we are helping families, seniors, veterans and vulnerable populations access the housing resources they need to thrive.”

The 2025 awards will fund a variety of projects, including transitional housing for veterans, emergency shelter operations, facility upgrades, case management and counseling support, rent and utility assistance, and multigenerationa housing initiatives.

Together, these grants provide essential support to ensure residents across Northampton County have access to safe, stable, and affordable housing

A complete list of 2025 Affordable Housing Program Grant recipients and the funded projects is included in a separate PDF attachment accompanying this release.

Since the program’s inception, the Affordable Housing Program has provided vital support to organizations addressing housing insecurity, helping residents secure safe and affordable living arrangements while strengthening communities throughout Northampton County. These grants not only provide immediate assistance but also help create long-term stability for residents and families.

Reflecting on the impact of these awards, McClure said, “Access to safe, affordable housing is a foundation for stability, opportunity, and quality of life.

“By investing in the organizations that provide these essential services, we are helping residents build a brighter future while strengthening the community as a whole.”
