Two males died in a one-vehicle crash at about 10:36 a.m. Monday on Interstate 80 in Monroe County.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said the crash occurred eastbound at mile marker 289.6 in Tunkhannock Township.

They said a passenger truck traveling east exited the roadway for unknown reasons, traveled off the left shoulder of the road and continued east down an embankment where it struck a tree.

Police said the driver and an occupant were both ejected from the vehicle and found to be deceased.

Police were assisted at the scene by Pocono Mountain Regional EMS, numerous fire departments and the Monroe County Coroner’s Office.
