Popular area entertainer Buster the Clown dies

A Lehighton man who has entertained children of all ages for over three decades has passed on.

Barton “Buster the Clown” L. Fritzinger Jr., 64, passed away Dec. 31 in his apartment. He was the husband of Brenda Fritzinger.

Most known for entertaining at kids’ birthday parties and events as Buster the Clown, Fritzinger created laughter and fun memories for over 35 years.

He appeared at numerous festivals and carnivals in the area, including the Carbon County Fair, Jim Thorpe Birthday Celebration, and Coal Miner’s Heritage Festival, to name a few.

Noted for his popular balloon animals, Fritzinger’s passion for performing, and his enjoyment of making children laugh always shined through, according to those who knew him.

Malinda Fox, president of the Carbon County Fair, said the organization is heartbroken over Fritzinger’s passing. We’re all deeply saddened, and our prayers are with the Fritzinger family,” Fox said. “We’re so thankful that he shared so many smiles and laughs with all the children, and all of us over the years.”

Fox noted that Fritzinger performed at the organization’s fair for many years.

“He certainly he has been a fixture at our fair for a long time,” she said. “He was at our 2025 fair.”

Dawn Remiszewski, president of the Lehighton Rotary Club, said Fritzinger had most recently appeared at their Rotary Craft Show in the spring.

“He was always a great guy, and he was great with the kids and very patient, and loved what he did,” Remiszewski said. “He was a staple.”

A 1979 graduate of Lehighton Area High School, Fritzinger worked at the Lehighton Block Company, Kriss Pines, Ott’s Concessions at carnivals, Laneco, and Giant.

His obituary information appears on page 4.
