January 5, 2012 — Pleasant Valley gets pins from four of its wrestlers to help gain a 39-26 Mountain Valley Conference win over Nazareth. It’s the first time the Bears have ever beaten the Blue Eagles, and the first time Nazareth has lost to an MVC opponent. PV, coached by Mark Getz, drops five of the first six matches with its only win a fall from Hunter Deihl at 182 pounds. Mike Benner registers a key pin at 285 before a decision loss at 106. But the Bears take the final six bouts to secure the victory. Mike Dahlstrom and Ernie Klingel get back-to-back falls at 126 and 132, while Alex Yanovich (138) and David Gehr (145) close things out with decision wins.
