Turnpike crashes
State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crash that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 5 p.m. Dec. 27 at mile marker 84 in Penn Forest Township.
Police said the crash occurred when Abigail R. Hesser, 31, of Philadelphia, was driving a 2015 Toyota Prius that struck the rear of a 2019 Volkswagen operated by Shane M. Kimmel, 36, of Manlius, New York. Police said both vehicles had disabling damage.
Hesser was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, according to police.
• Allison E. Moore, 25, of Olean, New York, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 4:55 p.m. Dec. 27 at mile marker 82 in Penn Forest Township. She was uninjured in the incident.
Police said she was driving a 2018 Jeep Cherokee southbound when she failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway and the vehicle struck the concrete median. It had disabling damage.
• Jason L. Howell, 48, of Schwenksville, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 8:43 a.m. Dec. 23 at mile marker 66.4 in Washington Township. He was uninjured in the incident.
Police said he was driving a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 northbound when it spun out in a snowstorm and struck the center concrete barrier and a guide rail.
• Police responded to a hit-and-run incident at 4:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at mile marker 89.3 in Kidder Township.
They said an unknown vehicle traveling south struck a message board and trailer on the right shoulder of the road and left the scene.
