McAdoo park to add 2 commercial buildings

An industrial park in Banks Township is growing again, with the construction of two new commercial buildings.

During the December Carbon County Planning Commission meeting, the board made two recommendations on the McAdoo Industrial Park plans, one for consolidating land and another for a construction project.

The first action combines two lots at 25 Kline Road West, located in the CAN Do Inc., McAdoo Industrial Park, to create a new 10.344-acre lot. That review received plan approval by the commission.

The second action calls for constructing 20,400-square-foot and 52,000-square-foot industrial/commercial facilities on the newly formed lot.

Those buildings would then be powered by utility services via an extension of the existing utility systems at the industrial park.

Ivan O. Meixell Jr., county planner, outlined his findings of the plans, noting that there are some items still needed, including stormwater control and erosion and sedimentation control plan measures reviews by the Carbon County Conservation District; permits and requirements of various state agencies; and written certification from utility companies authorizing the connection.

He added that following his review, he found areas of noncompliance with Banks Township Land Development Ordinances; however, recommended conditional plan approval of the development as long as outlined items were mitigated before final approval.

Commission member Dennis DeMara asked what company would occupy the new facilities at the business park.

Meixell said he was not given a business name for the new tenants.

The commission’s recommendation now goes to Banks Township for inclusion in the decision on the project.
