Marian to host free 529 savings plan webinar
Marian Catholic High School will hold a free educational webinar on Jan. 20, 2026, open to all Marian parents, prospective parents and any families interested in learning how 529 savings plans can help finance a Catholic education.
The session will be led by 1998 Marian graduate Joe Forish, founder of Fortrove Partners. It will include at 15-minute presentation on how parents can use 529 plans — specifically Pennsylvania 529 accounts — to lower their tax burden and make Catholic school tuition more affordable. The remaining 45 minutes will be a question and answer period.
Parents will also learn how a Pennsylvania 529 account can help pay for expenses related to enrollment or attendance at public, private or religious K-12 schools, up to $10,000 per year, per beneficiary; the federal and state income tax advantages of this type of account; and the state tax advantages.
Pennsylvania taxpayers may deduct up to $19,000 per beneficiary, per year in 529 contributions ($38,000 for married couples filing jointly, assuming each spouse has at least $19,000 of income); and earnings grow tax-deferred and be withdrawn federal income tax-free when used for qualified education expenses.
This webinar is free, but registration is required. Please visit https://forms.gle/d9RSPhNdr7BtjaQMA to register.
