A 26-year-old Williamsport man is facing drug possession charges after police made a traffic stop at 3:42 p.m. Dec. 19 on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

State police at the Pocono barracks said they made the stop of a 2018 Mercedes-Benz at mile marker 68.2 in Washington Township.

The stop was initiated after they received an alert from the license plate reader and found the man, who was a passenger in the car, in possession of marijuana, police said.
