Snow to begin late this afternoon
A winter storm warning remains in effect from 1 p.m. today to 10 a.m. Saturday.
Heavy snow is expected, with total snow and sleet accumulations between 4 and 6 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze.
Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.
Highest snow amounts will be in the northern half of the county and within elevated areas. Rates of up to 1 inch an hour will cause travel impacts Friday night. Local amounts could exceed 8 inches in the higher elevations.
