A man found along Interstate 81 is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, state police at the Frackville barracks said.

Tony Sessa, 50, of Hegins, was found sitting on the shoulder of I-81 in Foster Township at 8:49 p.m. on Dec. 6, according to police, who had received a call about a man walking on the shoulder of the highway.

Police said they also found a 2010 Kia Forte that Sessa had been driving a short distance away, disabled in snow.

He was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville, for a blood draw that later showed he was under the influence, according to police said.

Sessa is also facing summary citations.
