Weissport group gives back at Christmas
On Tuesday morning, the Weissport ladies’ Bible study group gave back to the community this Christmastime by serving ham dinners to the homeless at the Peaceful Knights shelter and delivering cookies to those who don’t drive.
Bible study coordinator Anita Wisler said, “It’s more blessed to give than it is to receive, especially at Christmastime.”
Wisler said they’ve been doing this for about five years now, and all the ladies enjoy baking cookies and cooking ham dinners.
“I hope these cookie trays can help some of those around us who might be shut-ins or might be hurting,” she said. “God has your back, always.”
Wisler went on to thank the people who give of their time to make the ham dinners for the homeless and the cookie trays possible.
“I’d like to thank all of our volunteers for being the hands and feet of God,” she said.
Wisler added that all ladies are welcome to their Bible study group, even if they don’t live in the Weissport area.
“All women are welcome to share in the good word here,” she said.
The next Weissport Ladies’ Bible Study Group will take place on Jan. 6 at the St. Peter’s Community Resource Center in Weissport. The topic will be powerful women in the Bible.
