Pl. Vly hosts Winter Village

The Pleasant Valley Intermediate School Parent Teacher Organization is hosting a Winter Village at 5 p.m. today at the school.

Kalimah Hardy, the president of the PTO, said food and craft vendors will be on hand for a fun evening where people can get those stocking stuffers and finish their last minute holiday shopping. There also will be plenty of free activities to do including games, crafts for children, hot chocolate and popcorn, Christmas karaoke, letter writing to Santa Claus, and professional family photos that people can take home with them that evening.

“I love free stuff for the families,” Hardy said.

The event is free, too, and open to the public with activities geared toward families.

Hardy said Winter Village will take place in both inside and outside of the school with food trucks and the Christmas tree lighting outside, and other food and craft vendors inside in the school’s cafeteria. The Christmas tree lighting will be at 7:15 p.m.

“It’s something to do that is literally in your backyard,” she said.

Food vendors include Taste of Brooklyn with empanadas, Mama Bee’s Grill N Chill with smashburgers and french fries, and desserts from Karmacarons with macaroons, and other confectionary delights.

Hardy said she is excited to hold this inaugural event and hopes people come out in the thousands.
