After more than 30 years of providing service locally, Ryan Township Supervisor Clyde Holman moved on to take his services across the commonwealth, having been named a new deputy for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Holman is the former chief of staff of the late Sen. James Rhoades.

On Friday, he was sworn in to his new position by Magisterial District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua, following his appointment last month by Governor Tom Corbett. At the time, Homan was serving as a senior aide to Sen. David Argall.

Holman is currently serving as chairman of the Ryan Township Board of Supervisors, a position he said he plans to continue to hold. He did, however, resign as a member of the Schuylkill County Economic Development Corporation and the Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce.
