Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors
The Rush, Ryan and Delano Senior Citizens met on Dec. 9 for the annual Christmas dinner. The event was catered by Hess Catering of Schuylkill Haven. Members said the food was delicious and enjoyed by all.
The secretary read the invocation, “Open Our Hearts to Christmas.” Two members were added to the sick list. One member brought Christmas cookies. Each member received a tote and gift card. A member donated ice cream for dessert.
The group asked for prayers for two members.
The group chanced off gifts that were won by some members. Bingo was played.
There are not meetings scheduled for January.
Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Dec. 11 with 25 members present.
The invocation, “Warm memories and Frosty Nights” was read by President Jean Machamer.
One member was added to the sick list and another member was welcomed back.
The group will exchange gifts and thanked sponsors for all the gift certificates. A member gave each ice cream and Machamer gave each member a piece of pie.
Another member gave Machamer a Christmas gift while another member brought poinsettia plants. Each member received a gift certificate from the club.
The meeting closed and bingo was played. The group meets at 1 p.m. Thursdays weather permitting at the Coaldale Complex. The group wishes all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Calvary Lewistown
The 11 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown will have the Sunday school Program. The previous Sunday’s service was canceled due to snow and the program was postponed. A candlelight service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Community Choir Christmas concert followed by free refreshments has been rescheduled to 3 p.m. Dec. 28.
There will be no Wednesday evening prayer service.
St. Peter’s — West Penn
The Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will be held at 9 a.m. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m. A Blue Christmas service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday.
On Wednesday, Christmas Eve services will be held at 2 and 7 p.m. with the sacrament of Holy Communion.
The church wishes all a very joyous and blessed Christmas.
Zion Lewistown
Valley Christian Preschool will hold its Christmas program at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley.
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.
The Christmas Eve candlelight service will be held at 4 p.m.
