State police at Frackville - crashes
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following crashes:
• Janessa A. McIntyre, 20, of Reading, was transported by the Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital after a one-vehicle crash at 3:44 p.m. Dec. 12 on Catawissa Road, Walker Township.
Police said she was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
They said she was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra southbound when she attempted to negotiate a left curve in the road, drove over a snowy mixture and lost control of the vehicle. It struck an embankment on the west shoulder of the road and overturned. The car was towed from the scene.
• William M. Barry, 24, of Macungie, was cited for failure to drive at safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 4:14 p.m. Dec. 10 on Route 309 (Claremont Avenue) in Hometown, Rush Township. He was uninjured in he crash.
Police said he was driving a 2011 Honda Civic southbound in snowy conditions when he applied its brakes and the vehicle began to slide. It went out of control and struck a cement pillar. The car was towed from the scene.
• Edison M. Ayala Zurita, 45, of West Hazleton, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 10 on Catawissa Road, Walker Township. Police said he was driving a 2011 Ford Edge southbound when it traveled off the right side of the road and hit a boulder before rolling onto its side.
Police said the Edge was towed from the scene.
• Donna J. Naoum, 29, of Lansford, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 1:48 p.m. Dec. 14 on Summer Valley Road (Route 895) in East Brunswick Township. She and a passenger, Justin L. Jones, 39, of Tamaqua, were uninjured in the incident.
Police said she was driving a 2025 Volkswagen Atlas southbound when she lost control on a curve in the road. The vehicle traveled over the northbound lane and hit a stone retaining wall in the 500 block of Summer Valley Road.
Police said the Atlas was towed from the scene.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 4:28 p.m. Dec. 14 on Claremont Avenue (Route 309) in Hometown, Rush Township.
Police said the crash occurred when the driver of a 2012 Buick Lacrosse made a left turn at the intersection with Tide Road and began to slide on snow, crossing the right lane. The vehicle was struck by a 2024 Toyota RAV4 that was southbound at the time.
Police said both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
