Mahoning Township is doing its part to make it easier for its ambulance association to put a new roof on its building.
Supervisors on a 4-0 vote Wednesday agreed to waive all township permit fees for the Mahoning Valley Ambulance Association in its quest to replace the roof on its building.
The board’s decision came after it heard from Supervisor Deb McGowan, who said she spoke with Paul Waddell Jr., director of operations for the Mahoning Valley Ambulance Association.
McGowan said that association is in the process of trying to get a line of credit that it needs for a new roof.
She said the association is looking at spending almost $70,000 to replace the roof on the building.
“I don’t see why we can’t waive (the township’s permit fees),” McGowan said. “They’re doing everything they possibly can.”
Supervisor Ron Reeser was absent.
