Tamaqua police release report on Coaldale activity

Tamaqua Police released its activities report for the month of November in Coaldale.

During the month, police were dispatched to 115 calls, filed 69 reports, and addressed 30 vehicles with violations. Officers had seven trailers removed from streets and issued seven traffic citations and two non-traffic citations. Two criminal arrests, including one for felony firearm possession, were made.

Councilwoman Angela Krapf suggested having police submit the number of miles that officers patrol each month.

“You know how people were questioning how often the police were over here in Coaldale?” Krapf asked. “When we had our own police department, they used to have the mileage. They had the beginning mileage and the end mileage.”

If police submit the information, Krapf said residents will know that officers have been patrolling the borough.

“Just because they’re not seeing them doesn’t mean that they’re not here,” Krapf said.

Under a shared services agreement, Tamaqua police have been patrolling Coaldale since September.
