State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 25-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 1:26 a.m. Dec. 7.

He was stopped in a 2016 Nissan Rogue for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.

• A 55-year-old man from Albrightsville was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a disturbance/noise complaint at 6 p.m. Nov. 27 at a property on Twin Lake Drive, Polk Township.

Police said the victim is a 30-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe who is the stepdaughter of the suspect. Police said she told them she got into an argument with her stepfather the previous night and had waited until he was out of the house to call police. She said the altercation became physical and she did not feel safe around him.

Police said the woman was advised to seek a Protection From Abuse court order against her stepfather.

• A 26-year-old man from Palmerton is the victim of an extortion incident that he reported to police at 1:02 p.m. Nov. 19.

Police said he arrived at their barracks to report that he sent an inappropriate photo to an online account, after which time the account holder extorted $450 from the victim.
