A Tamaqua woman who borough police said was frolicking, dancing and lying in the street - and refusing to move for vehicles - was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

According to Tamaqua police, officers were dispatched to Washington and Vine streets and found Alysha Hartshorn, 39, who appeared to be under the influence. Police asked her how much methamphetamine she had used and she said, “A lot.”

Police said Hartshorn was very erratic and could not stand or sit still. Police told her to go home but she refused to do so. As police attempted to call her partner, she climbed on top of the patrol car. She was taken into custody and transported to St. Luke’s Miners campus in Coaldale. Police advised personnel that she was being combative and aggressive due to the drugs. She was treated at the hospital and charged.
