State police at Lehighton - crashes
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following accidents:
• Fergie N. Ferguson, 29, and Amy M. Medina, 36, both of Lansford, were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 2:34 p.m. Dec. 6 at the intersection of Interchange and Forest Inn roads, Towamensing Township.
Police said the severity of their injuries is unknown. They said Medina was transported by personnel from the Palmerton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, while Ferguson was not transported from the scene.
The crash occurred as Ferguson was driving a 2010 Mazda3 when she attempted to turn left onto Forest Inn Road and the car was struck by a 2017 Ford Expedition operated by Lydia W. Buck, 63, of Kunkletown. Medina was a passenger in the Mazda.
Buck and three passengers, ages 3, 7 and 10, were all uninjured.
Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Ferguson was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Jordan S. Fisher, 27, of Lehighton, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 1:13 p.m. Dec. 6 on West Lizard Creek Road, East Penn Township.
Police said the severity of his injuries is unknown. He was not transported from the scene.
Police said he was driving a 2007 Toyota Corolla east when he lost control of the car and it struck a utility pole. The car was towed from the scene.
Fisher was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed, according to police.
• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:29 p.m. Nov. 24 on the Little Gap Road in Lower Towamensing Township.
Police said the crash occurred as Lisa M. Racosky, 50, of Bath, was driving a 2021 Nissan Rogue westbound when a deer entered its path and was struck. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• Mary E. Romero Melean, 23, of Irving, Texas, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a one-vehicle crash at 1:45 p.m. Nov. 19 on Greenhill Road, Polk Township. She was uninjured in the incident.
Police said she was driving a 2009 Kia Optima too fast for wet roadway conditions when she lost control of the car while traveling down a hill and around a sharp curve. The car hit an embankment and was towed from the scene.
• Dennis Saccheri, 70, of Albrightsville, was involved in a one-vehicle crash at 1:53 p.m. Nov. 17 on Polk Township Road, Polk Township.
Police said he was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt northbound when he attempted to turn into a parking lot and the car struck a boulder adjacent to the entrance. The Cobalt became “high centered” on the boulder, had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
• Herbert D. Gebhard Jr., 56, and Annmarie Gebhard, 54, both of Palmerton, had suspected minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 1:23 p.m. Nov. 15 on Walnut Drive, Towamensing Township.
Police said they were transported by personnel from the Palmerton Community Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.
They said Herbert Gebhard was operating a 1992 Chevrolet Corvette, with Annmarie Gebhard as a passenger, when the car had a mechanical brake failure while traveling downhill, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle. It struck a ditch and was towed from the scene.
