Temperatures to dip in the single digits tonight

A polar vortex is brining bitter cold temperatures tonight.

Here is the latest forecast from the National Weather Service:

Today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. North wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 4. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 30. Light and variable wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of snow after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Snow before 10 a.m., then rain, possibly mixed with snow between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., then rain after 4 p.m. High near 41. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Wednesday Night: A chance of rain, mixing with snow after 10 p.m., then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 36.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 35.

Friday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
