Driver stopped on turnpike to be cited

State police at the Pocono barracks said the owner/driver of a vehicle stopped on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be cited.

Police said a 2005 Ford Escape was stopped for a registration violation at 8 a.m. Dec. 3 at mile marker 66.5 in Washington Township.

It was determined the vehicle’s registration expired in August and was then suspended for unpaid turnpike tolls, according to police. The annual and emission stickers displayed on the windshield of the vehicle were also determined to be fraudulent, police said.

Victims of the incident were listed as U.S. Trans Enterprises, Philadelphia, and Henise Tire Service, Cleona.
