December 6, 2013 — A huge second half from Jake Szczecina allows Panther Valley to capture a 71-63 victory over Marian in both team’s season opener during the Panther Valley Tip-Off Tournament. Szczecina, who scores nine points in the first half as the Colts hold a two-point advantage, explodes for 23 over the final two frames to end with 32 in the game and allow the Panthers to outscore their opponent by a 42-32 margin to pull out the win. Szczecina especially excels at the foul line, hitting 13 of 15 shots from the stripe. PV, coached by Pat Crampsie, also receives 15 points from Kyle Ferryman while Marian is led by Anthony Agosti’s 26 points.
