The Tamaqua Area School Board reorganized Tuesday night retaining the same the leadership and welcoming a new board member.

Larry Wittig remains as board president with Nicholas Boyle as vice president. Business Manager Connie Ligenza will serve as board secretary.

New board member Curt Hartung will serve on the auxiliary committee, which is chaired by Thomas Bartasavage.

Other committee chairs include Daniel Schoener, finance and uniform; Boyle, hearing and security; Melanie Dillman, education; Trina Schellhammer, health and welfare; Wittig, legislative awareness, PSBA representative; intermediate unit representative; and STC representative.

The auxiliary, education and finance committees will meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the middle school large group instruction room, except in June, July and August when the meetings are on the third Tuesday of the month.

Board meetings are on the third Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m., except in May when the meeting will follow the committee meetings on the second Tuesday.

Board meetings will also follow committee meetings in June, July and August, when committee and board meetings shift to the same day.
