Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Deb will bring the message at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in Lewistown Valley. During the service, the Advent candles will be lit and Holy Communion will be distributed. There will be a special music presentation at the end of the service. The congregation will decorate the tree while singing “O, Christmas Tree.” The annual Christmas party for all ages will be held after the decorating. If you wish to bring food to share, call Sue at 570-668-3359 to register. There will be no 6:30 p.m. Sunday service. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:45 a.m.

The Wednesday small prayer group will meet at 7 p.m. On Dec. 14, the annual Christmas program produced by the Sunday school will be held at 11 a.m. The Community Choir Christmas concert will be held at 3 p.m. followed by free refreshments.

There will be no evening services during the month of December except for the 6:30 p.m. Dec. 21 candlelight service for all.

Luncheon

A “Wrap It Up” luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Free Church, 10 Hollenbush Lane, Orwigsburg. The event is sponsored by Schuylkill Women’s Connection/Stonecroft Ministries. Guest speaker is Darlene Clark of Delmar, New York. The feature is a Christmas sing-along.

Andreas VFW

The Andreas VFW Post will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the West Penn Annex.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

The 9 a.m. Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will have the sacrament of Holy Communion. There will be a congregational meeting. Adult Sunday school is at 10:15 a.m., and the WASP Family Christmas party is at noon Sunday.

The Prayer Group meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and retirees meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

On Dec. 11, the Cherub and Bell choirs rehearses at 6 p.m. and the Senior Choir rehearses at 7 p.m. There will be a meet and greet with Pastor Nemeth from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 12.
