Camelback Resort in Tannersville plans to open Wednesday for the winter season.

Early season snowmaking and upgraded terrain has set the stage for skiing, snowboarding and No. 1 Ranked Snow Tubing Fun

Snowmaking crews have been working around the clock as temperatures allow with hundreds of snow guns firing across the mountain to prepare a strong mix of early season terrain.

At opening, guests can look forward to Nile Mile and Sunbowl trails debuting first, with Cliff-hanger to follow shortly after. A terrain park on Sunbowl North will also be available. The newly upgraded Stevenson Lift and the Sunbowl Lift will be spinning from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Camelback’s popular snow tubing park, recently ranked #1 in USA Today’s 10 Best “Best Place for Snow Tubing,” is slated to open next week, adding even more early-season excitement.

Because of Camelback’s ongoing investment in high-efficiency snowmaking technology that maximizes output during shorter cold windows to deliver more consistent coverage across the resort, the mountain operations team is tracking toward a solid early season lineup.

“Our new upgrades are allowing us to cover more terrain faster, so we’re set up for a fantastic season ahead,” said Jason Bays, vice president and general manager at Camelback Resort.

Guests can also look forward to night skiing and riding on select illuminated trails, extending the fun well into the evening — one of Camelback’s signature winter experiences.

Across the resort, guest services, rentals, and ski school will operate out of Mountain Village, with the following hours:

• Guest Services: opens Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 8 a.m.

• Rentals: opens Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 8:30 a.m.

• Ski School: opens Saturday, Dec. 6 at Adventure Basecamp

Winter dining favorites return throughout the resort village, including:

• Thirsty Camel and Rakuda Ramen, daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Trails End, daily starting at noon

• Waffle Cabin, daily from 12 to 5 p.m.

Parking and transportation updates include $20 parking in the D2 Lot, with all other general lots complimentary, and shuttles rotating around the property throughout the day.

Known for its family focused instruction, Camelback’s Kids Full-Day Lesson Program returns this season, giving young skiers and riders a fun and engaging way to learn on the slopes.
