State police at Fern Ridge - crashes
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:
• Police were called to a crash that occurred at 12:10 p.m. Nov. 22 in the roundabout on Route 209 at its intersection with Pleasant Valley Road. No one was hurt in the incident.
The crash involved a 2020 Jeep Gladiator and a 2015 Ford Fusion, both of which were driven from the traffic circle by their drivers, who were not identified.
Police said the vehicles collided when the driver’s side rear tire of the Gladiator made contact with the passenger’s side front quarter panel of the Fusion.
Police said both drivers alleged the other driver drifted into their respective lanes.
They said the Gladiator was not damaged, while the Fusion had moderate damage.
• Alexis D. Levan, 24, of Jim Thorpe, had possible injuries, and John P. Reed, 56, of Palmerton, had suspected minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 12:52 p.m. Nov. 20 on Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said neither driver required an emergency medical services transport from the scene.
They said the crash occurred as Levan was driving a 2017 Hyundai Tucson northbound when she failed to react to a 2020 Jeep Cherokee operated by Reed that was stopped in front of the Tucson.
Police said the Tucson was towed from the scene, while the Jeep was driven from the scene.
Levan was cited for following too closely.
• Joseph J. Makara Jr., 51, of Kunkletown, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 11:47 p.m. Nov. 16 on Astolat Road in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said the crash occurred as Makara was driving a 2018 Mazda westbound when it left its lane of travel and entered the eastbound lane, left the road and hit several bushes and small trees.
Makara and a passenger, Connor J. Makara, 22, also of Kunkletown, were uninjured.
